Travel to Lunyakhedi, Prahlad Tipanya’s village near Maksi in Madhya Pradesh, to be part of a 5-day residential workshop that offers a chance to understand the poetry and philosophy of Kabir through the music of Malwa. Prahladji, who is among the foremost singers of Kabir in Malwa, will conduct the workshop along with members of his troupe.

Kabir was a 15th century mystic poet of north India who defied the boundaries between Hindu and Muslim. He had a Muslim name and upbringing, but his poetry repeatedly invokes the widely revered Hindu name for God – Ram. Who is Kabir’s Ram?
This film by Shabnam Virmani journeys through song and poem into the politics of religion, and finds a myriad answers on both sides of the hostile border between India and Pakistan.
Screening starts at 6 pm. Admission is free. For more information, write to info@acropolis.org.in
