Organised by Nikita Ram and Anju Motwani (both deeply touched by the poetry of Kabir), this 3 day residential workshop from the 17th to the 19th of June this a chance for all of us to step out of our hectic selves and lives and play with the music and poetry of Kabir, the 15th century weaver-saint-poet from Benares. This workshop would be centred around the understanding of Kabir and therefore an understanding of ourselves in the company of Prahlad Tipanya- one of the most renowned folk singers of Kabir from Malwa, Madhya Pradesh. He is not only a singer of Kabir but also a man who has immersed himself in the thought stream that is Kabir and marries his deep experiential understanding of Kabir and other mystic poets along with a simple yet profoundly mesmerising style of singing.
Since this is a residential retreat, the number of people who can sign up will be limited to around 12. Participants are welcome to contribute whatever they can to this workshop the costs of which work out to around 4200/- per person.
